Duke was known as the "Hawaiian Ambassador of Aloha" as he represented the culture of Hawaii to millions of people worldwide. From 1912 to 1922 Duke won one bronze, two silver, and three gold metals in four Olympics. He is also known as the Father of International Surfing having introduced the sport to the Eastern seaboard.
